JUST IN: PACQUIAO WINS VS. DK YOO

 

Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao returns to the ring facing off against DK Yoo in an exhibition match this Saturday, December 10 at Korea International Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea. The preliminary card is set to get underway at 10 p.m. ET. Ring walks for Pacquiao and Yoo are estimated for 1:00 a.m. ET, depending on the length of the undercard.

Scheduled for six rounds, this will be Pacquiao’s first fight appearance since falling to Yordenis Uga a year ago and retiring. The 43 year-old holds an impressive 63-8-2 career record and is widely regarded as one of the best fighters in boxing history.

DK Yoo is a Korean mixed martial arts specialist also known for his content on YouTube. Yoo runs a channel with videos all promoting self-defense techniques for viewers, he will try his luck this weekend against Pacquiao.

Round 1: 10-9 Pacquiao

Not really a contest, despite Manny being 15 pounds or so lighter as well as having a lesser reach. The quickness of the 43-year-old allowed for several lefts and rights to the body. It might depend on how long Manny wants this exhibition to go.

Round 2: 10-9 Pacquiao

Manny fighting southpaw almost landed an overhand left that might have ended it, but he’s still able to score with rights to the body, while Yoo had one jab hit Manny in the chest, but everything else seemed to find the arms of Pacquiao.

Round 3: 10-9 Pacquiao

DK landed a nice right to open the round, but Manny just came with repeated flurries and the only thing that kept Yoo on his feet was his ability to tie-up.

Round 4: 10-8 Pacquiao

Yoo is gassed, and it’s likely over shortly. A right hand put Yoo down right in his corner, but he popped back up and asked to keep fighting. That might not be his decision shortly.

Round 5: 10-9 Pacquiao

A rabbit punch got Yoo some extra time to breathe, but he basically survived the two-minute round via stalling, running away, and the mercy of the Filipino Senator. We’ll see if he tries to finish him here.

Round 6: 10-8 Pacquiao

We finally got an official knockdown with a quick left to the temple, but another should-have-been knockdown was ruled a slip. The judging on the undercard tonight has been horrendous, and the referee in this bout was pretty terrible as well. As an exhibition this was fine, but it had nothing to do with a real fight.
